 Dress: Asos
Bag: Belmondo
Shoes: C&A
Sunnies: Asos
Accessoires: Bijoux Brigit

We all know rock and roll clothing is one of the most popular and long living trends on the fashion scene and this is because of the outstanding edge that rock n roll clothes bring to style. This form of clothing has been around since the 50s and is also known as the ‘Teddy Boy’ style. A great era, the 50s was one for brilliant fashion and retro style and has produced some legendary fashion trends, including the rock and roll style, which we still wear today.
All of this rock and roll clothing has certainly made an impact on the fashion of today and some of these styles are even more popular today than they were then. Designers of today have taken rock n roll clothes and given them new twists that really work for the fashion industry. However, no matter how much they try to change the 50s style it will still have that retro image that we all love. Keeping its place in the fashion industry, rock and roll clothing is a truly unforgettable era for fashion that we will be trending for years to come.
The rock and roll dresses that were around in the 50s truly were, and are, retro vintage dresses you would want to wear. Their impact on the fashion of today is huge as you will notice many of our summer outfits today consist of these stunning dresses. The 50s style is one that has certainly been brought back into fashion today and this includes these retro dresses. There are many designs available, but some of these rock and roll dresses are more popular than others. The most popular designs available today are: Polkadot, High Waist, Pencil Skirt, Off the shoulder. Yo have seen the polkadot dress in a previous post, I really have to do some outfits with these mentioned designs in the near future.
All of these rock and roll dresses have been extremely popular over the years and have still kept their popularity in today’s fashion industry. This is because the retro vintage dresses that were around in the 50s had a more mature design that women of today want to achieve with their look.
Hairstyles in the fifties reflected the glamorous look of movie stars. These fabulous styles were achieved using curlers and lots of back combing.
I hope you like my high waist striped dress, my hair style and enjoy another of my interpretion of the 50's!
Thank you for stopping by!

Aztec Modern Interpretation
I decided to add a contemporary Aztec-inspired piece to my wardrobe, a fashion trend that is all about ethnic and tribal elements and not about whole looks where the origins of the look are downplayed! I have always been interested in travelling and diving into different cultures and drawing inspiration from them.
The Aztec look is the perfect Spring style, wearing a piece instantly gives you an uber-cool, street savvy, exotic style without making it look like you’ve tried too hard and instantly evokes dreams of far off vacation destinations.
Contemporary Aztec-inspired pieces use the elements while adding a new twist to keep things modern. I have seen diverse colour plattes that straggle from traditional Aztec shades, as well as an emphasis on geometry or embellishments within the fabric chosen.
If you are looking to make a statement, look for patterned skirts like I did and pair it with a casual white Tee and some nice pumps. I decided to leave my hair natural wavy to emphasize the exotic look

What are your thoughts on the Aztec-inspired trend?

PS: Anna-Lena and I stumbled over the antice flea market which is once a year along the promenade in Überlinge (lake constance) where I found this amazing mauve sequined clutch, so I incoperated it in my pics. Hope you enjoy!

Time journey into the 50's

I went to the most amazing and entertaining "Rock' n' Roll Therapy" concert of Dick Brave & The Backbeats couple days ago with one of my lovely friends Christiane. It's Rock'n'Roll music and contemporary pop music with that 50's Rock N Roll flair. Pretty good stuff especially when you like that kind of music.
So that awesome concert inspired me to do a 50's shoot, not only do I like the music but always adored the look of the fifties style divas Doris Day, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. I watched some hair tutorials to get that hair styles. Man I am telling ya, getting this hair flip was such a challenge, my finger got sticked all the time I rolled them up hahaha ;-)
I really welcome the comeback of that fashion style this year and so excited to do more looks if you are interested in. Let me know!

Do you like that kind of music and fashion as much as I do?
In case you don't know the band, I included a music video in this blog, you just need to scroll down and turn up the volume ;-)

Blue Overall

Overall: H&M
Clutch: Zara
Accessoires: H&M, Asos

So cleaning up my wardrobe I stumbled over this blue overall I got last year on sale and never wore and totally forgot about. I dunno but I am kinda disappointed how it fits on the top and hips and how it turned out on these photos. Maybe I am just too short for overalls? What do you think?
In person, this outfit looked actually pretty decent, but I’m not sure that comes across in these photos.  Did you ever make the experience liking a piece and it didn't turn out nicely on the photo?

Lost in the wind......

I’ve been soo looking forward to showing you this amazing cream dress from H&M– and here it is! I just adore how it looks with the earthy tones accessoires. Love the butterfly arms which gives the dress that flowy touch. Perfect to wear it to the beach or doing a picnic in the lovely nature.
I have a feeling that mixing ‘girly’ with ‘edgy’ is going to be a new fave look of mine this Spring/Summer.
I was experimenting with some different hairstyles, so some nice hippie looks turned out again. Shooting in the nature is so much fun and probably my favourite setting anyways. While Anna-Lena, who takes the most awesome pics ( thank you so much for your support, its' always a blast) and I were walking around in the countryside, we discovered those cute baby calfs, I lost my heart for the grey one, isn't is sooooooo gorgeous? :-)
What about you, where do you feel more comfortable taking your pics?
Hope you enjoy those looks!
